Coach Jim Saari's Top Accomplishments

  • Since becoming Recruiting Coordinator for the Capital City VBC in 2006, every senior player who sought a college volleyball scholarship has received one
  • Assistant coach for 16 years at the NCAA Division I level at Ohio State University (men's and women's team), University of Utah, University of Nevada, and the University of South Florida.
  • Assistant coach, 10 conference winning teams (4 Big Ten Championships, 5 Sun Belt Conference Championships, and one Conference USA Championship).
  • Assistant coach of 1984 Ohio State women's team that finished ranked 6th in the nation after making the NCAA Elite Eight National Championship.
  • Coached 2 NCAA All- Americans (Karen Alsbrooks, Mary Ormsby), one Olympian (Ormsby- Team Canada), and 27 all college all conference players.
  • Coached in two NCAA Final Fours as an Assistant Coach with the Ohio State men's volleyball team (two 3rd place national finishes).
