College Volleyball

College Volleyball History.

The first NCAA women's volleyball championship was held in 1981 for divisions 1, 2 and 3.

Volleyball was the third sport in which championships were held.

The first two were field hockey and cross-country.

The first NCAA men's volleyball championship was held in 1970. UCLA won the first three titles.

Californian colleges continue to dominate. Only 1 eastern college has ever reached the finals and that was Penn State in 1999.

You might be the best volleyball player at your school but if your not in the top 3% then don't expect the NCAA volleyball coaches to come to you; you have to make it happen and apply to as many colleges as possible.
